The live Friday night fixture is an important one at both ends of the Premier League table as Champions League chasing Leicester travel to a Southampton side who are still not mathematically safe from relegation.
Southampton will be hoping the end of the season comes soon with four defeats in their last five that has seen them drop to 15th on 36 points. They will be relieved that Fulham in 18th are also struggling though the gap of nine with five to play is still gettable. The Saints will be looking for a victory here that would all but secure their place in the top flight for another campaign.
A few weeks earlier Foxes fans could have been forgiven for thinking their team were in danger of letting going of a European place for a second successive season but back-to-back victories (over West Brom and Palace) has put seven points between them and West Ham who are in fifth. Securing a place in the Champions League for the second season would be just reward for an excellent campaign under Brendan Rodgers.
These two sides recently met in the FA Cup Semi Finals that Leicester won 1-0 which means the East Midlands outfit have won three of their last four meetings including the famous 9-0 hammering back in October 2019.
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANGLES
Iheanacho is the obvious selection here with three double figure points hauls in his last five and only one two pointer in his last six. Jamie Vardy and James Maddison actually topped the shot charts with three each but their accuracy was off. If you have only no other fires to put out investing in either of these to go alongside Nacho could make sense.
For the Saints, Danny Ings does have two goals in his last three games but injuries are always a concern. The defence looks hard to invest in despite the forward threat of Kyle Walker-Pieters and with rotating goalkeepers Fraser Forster and Alex McCarthy the former at 4.0m is not the bargain he looked a few weeks earlier.
Both teams to score has happened in four of the last five games for Southampton while the Foxes have bagged 12 goals from their last five Premier League games. This in itself looks a solid bet but enhancing the price further by taking both teams to score and a road win looks the best option. Leicester are playing the much better Football and have an in-form striker in Iheanacho so they look worth backing to win a game in which both sides net.
